Privacy policy

This policy explains what information AG Electrical collects when you use our website or work with us, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who we are

AG Electrical is an electrical and IT services business run by Andy Glover as a sole trader, based in St Austell, Cornwall. We are the “controller” of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for looking after it.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us:

2. What information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for, carry out and certify your work.

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property where work is needed.
  • Enquiry details: what you tell us about the job, such as the type of work, the property and access arrangements.
  • Job and certificate records: details of the work carried out, test results and certificates (such as EICRs), including the property address and the name of the person who ordered the work.
  • Billing details: invoices and payment records. We do not store card or bank details on our website.
  • Website usage: anonymous, aggregated visitor statistics (see section 6).

Most information comes directly from you, through our contact forms, by email or by phone. Sometimes it comes from others who arrange work on your behalf, such as estate agents, letting agents, landlords, or trade platforms like Bark and MyBuilder. If you are a tenant, we may receive your name and contact details from your landlord or agent so we can arrange access.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website does not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so we don't show a cookie banner.

  • nf_edge: a technical cookie set by our website host, Netlify. It is needed to deliver the website to you and does not track you.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: gives us anonymous, aggregated statistics, such as how many people visit and which pages they view. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't build a profile of you and doesn't follow you across other websites. To produce these statistics, Cloudflare briefly processes technical information such as your IP address.

If you prefer, you can block analytics using your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker. This won't affect how the website works for you.

If we add anything that needs your consent in future, we will ask before using it and update this policy.

7. Keeping it secure

We take sensible steps to protect your information, including password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication where available, secure (HTTPS) connections on our website, and limiting access to the information to people who need it to do the job.

Some of the services we use (section 4) may store or process information outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. Our Zoho account stores data in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses with the provider, are in place to protect it.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Ask us to limit how we use your information.
  • Object to us using your information where we rely on our legitimate interests.
  • Ask for your information in a format you can pass to someone else.

Some rights have limits. For example, we may need to keep certificates and tax records for as long as the law requires, even if you ask us to delete them. If so, we'll explain why.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. There's no charge, and we'll reply within one month.

Complaints: if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy if we change how we use your information, for example if we add a new service. The date below shows when it was last updated.
